About the Oxford Garden Club

Oxford Garden Club (OGC) was founded in 2003 and joined the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland in 2004. The club currently has 48 members; 33 active, 14 associate, and 1 emeritus. Eight members are also Master Gardeners and two are Master Naturalists.

Oxford Garden Club maintain the gardens at the Oxford Community Center, The Oxford Library and The Oxford Museum. The Museum garden, reminiscent of an old cottage garden, was also designed and installed by the garden club.

Members provide flower arrangements for shut-ins at holidays several times a year, provides youth gardening projects,  participate in town events such as Oxford Day, and provide floral designs for Fine Arts at Oxford's gala opening. OGC sponsors a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony and participates in both Wreaths Across America in December and the placement of flags for Veteran's Day, both at Hurlock Veterans Cemetery.

OGC installed and dedicated a Blue Star Memorial Marker in Town Park to honor all members of the armed services. The Secret Gardens of Oxford Tour is a bi-annual event, as is a flower show. In addition, OGC sponsors programs open to the public with speakers on garden-related topics.
